The TRAINGRAPE project (2023–2024) evaluated training systems and canopy-management techniques (shoot topping) on Mavrodaphne, measuring sugars, phenolics and anthocyanins. Findings show light topping boosts sugars and phenolics (especially in seeds), while severe topping elevates specific anthocyanins for a stronger colour profile actionable insights for targeted, sustainable vineyard management and improved wine potential.
QLC actively supported the project by structuring the operational team, allocating activities and coordinating contributors. We also drive dissemination to the wider agri-food sector via events and communication management.
