ISO 55001 Certification for MGD Energy with the support of QLC

MGD Energy: Asset Management Excellence (ISO 55001) – Reliable and High-Performance Renewable Energy Projects

MGD Energy has successfully achieved certification to ISO 55001 – Asset Management System, formally confirming its strategic commitment to the systematic, transparent, and efficient management of assets that support the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Renewable Energy projects.

The certification audit was conducted by the independent, accredited certification body TÜV AUSTRIA HELLAS. QLC was responsible for the end-to-end design and implementation of the project, covering all phases from the initial assessment and analysis of the existing framework to the full operational integration of the Asset Management System and support during the final certification audit.

During project implementation, QLC focused on the structured mapping and criticality assessment of assets, both those owned by MGD Energy and those managed on behalf of its clients. Key actions included the development of a risk-based maintenance planning framework, the establishment of availability, reliability, and performance indicators, and the strengthening of change and contractor governance. In parallel, structured training initiatives and digital asset monitoring tools were implemented, enhancing operational stability, transparency, and predictability across energy infrastructures.

Commenting on the certification, Panagiotis Mourtopallas, CEO & Co-Founder of MGD Energy, stated: “ISO 55001 strengthens the strategic management of RES projects, creating added value through a unified, internationally recognized asset management framework for both our company and our partners.”

The successful ISO 55001 certification further strengthens MGD Energy’s position as a reliable technical and operational partner in the Renewable Energy sector, fully aligned with international asset management best practices and the requirements of high-availability, high-performance energy projects.
