EcoVadis is a global sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) assessment platform used by companies and organizations to evaluate and improve performance in environmental, social, and ethical management. The EcoVadis assessment process involves:
- Completing a questionnaire, adapted to company size, industry, and geographic location.
- Submitting documented evidence supporting the organization’s sustainability practices.
- Assessment by EcoVadis experts, who review company performance across four areas: environment, labor and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement.
- Assigning a score and issuing a detailed report highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
- Ongoing monitoring and enhancement of company practices to raise future scores.
Organizations with certifications or established sustainability policies (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SA 8000, ISO 37001) have a competitive edge by more easily providing supporting documents. Working with specialized consultants helps with thorough preparation and optimized responses.
EcoVadis is not a certification system but a sustainability assessment model that assigns each company a score based on its practices. Companies receive a score from 0 to 100 and may earn a medal (Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze) corresponding to their performance level.
